A little more velvet...

Ok so yesterday I made my post about my new love for all things velvet and today I'm afraid it's going to continue....

As I was scanning through the Topshop website I came across my velvet dream...

All soft black fabric, studs and it's a playsuit. I want it sooooooo bad it actually hurts a little. I can imagine wearing it with thick black tights and my patent brogues or with some high suede black and gold wedges.....ahhhh if only it didn't cost £95.

Do you think that's too expensive? Or would you consider it an investment?

Velvet Crush

I am starting to develop a slight crush on all things velvet. Every high-street store has some kind of velvet-element which makes me want to stand there and stroke it, which means I start to attract funny looks.

I think my obsession started when I came across House of Dagmar and these two particular outfits:

I think velvet can be extremely flattering and especially in the pale pink above, it looks so luxurious.

Since all of the winter wear hit the shops I have been scouring for the perfect velvet item to include in my wardrobe. Unfortunately I have had no such luck. Mainly I think this is due to the fact that what I really want is the above pink mini.

So far I haven't spotted anything that I have fallen for. There was one deep turquoise dress in M&S but it didn't match up....here a few others that took my fancy...

This play suit from Motel...

These velvet grey shorts from A.P.C Madras...

And finally this ruched skirt from ASOS...

But I am yet to make that special purchase.

Luella Loving...

I know it's already been reported everywhere about how Luella has had to stop trading so I thought now would be a good time to pay tribute.

I am a massive Luella fan. I love the way she mixes colours and shapes to create feminine silhouettes. She has an eye for detail with her collections regularly featuring buckles, bows and ribbons. If I had the money then I would have loved to be a Luella Girl.

Just thought I'd share some of my favourite Luella pieces from her Spring/Summer 2010 collection. Especially as the reality is that none of these pieces will probably get made. This collection seemed more grown up and refined than previous ones. Although the Luella fun was still evident with polka dots, small waists and emphasised hips.

These are the most perfect, flirty summer dresses. I especially love the cut out, heart shaped neckline on the first one and of course the floral prints...

These dresses are amazing. Completely over the top but they represent the fun element and the youthfulness of the brand...

Polka dots were everywhere, ranging from the bubble skirt to the more streamlined shorts...

And finally for the more refined...

I love the styling of the models. Big bows make a nice juxtaposition to the slick hair and bold eye. I'm still dreaming of being a Luella Girl...

Bootyliscious

Every year myself, my mum, auntie and cousin plan a day to do all of our Christmas shopping together. Saturday was the chosen day seeing as I have no time to take off from work as I am going on holiday in less than 2 weeks.

We all always really look forward to this day, especially the coffee stops along the way to catch up. I thought I had planned really well. I knew what I wanted for Christmas and also what I wanted to get for others so presumed it would be easy. Well I was wrong.

The only thing I managed to buy was one little prez for the boy. I then went completely blank and couldn't find anything that I liked enough to receive from my auntie. Useless.

One the plus side we did find a magnificent present from my mum to me.....Just imagine them in a mink colour....
Heaven in a shoe....the other plus side is that they were massively reduced! Wahay.
Just need to find some clothes to wear them with.

I have also been really wanting a massive faux fur coat but have always been unsure about getting one. I saw this in Miss Selfridge's and am still a bit undecided.

What do you think...yay or nay??

I know I've been absent...

I know I keep creating these posts where I apologise for being away for so long then promise that I will try to post more regularly...which never fully happens. Well guess what, I'm going to do the same again.

Once again I have the same reason for being so absent. Work. I started a new job and am now 3months in. Things have been hectic, we have just relaunched one of our sites which now has an accompanying TV channel on Sky. All of this and travelling to and from town every day leaves me pretty much knackered in the evenings which means I never get round to posting.

Anyways we were talking about my blog at work Friday and people were saying that I needed to pick it up again and this made me realise actually how much I miss it.

I don't think I will ever be able to post once a day again but my aim is to try to update say three times a week. Well, that is until I go away on holiday in less than two weeks time where it will all go upside down again.

Now that I have money I have also made some new purchases that I can showcase to you.

Please be patient with me while I try to catch up on my comments and work my way through my favourite blogs again....You can also follow me on Twitter here.

Black and white...

I haven't been in a Miss Selfridge shop in ages as there isn't one near me so it was nice to meet up with an old friend and go there and obviously Topshop in Oxford Circus, after work one evening. I wasn't expecting to find anything I liked but this dress took me by surprise.

The crazy pattern is quite hypnotic and I love the fact that it has a massive zip the whole way down the front of the dress. It has a gathered waist, flattering neckline, big pockets and beautiful cutout detailing on the back which highlight the shoulders...Amazemant. It was the perfect addition to my wardrobe.

It had it's first outing last weekend for a friends birthday drinks. I paired it with black tights, my new wedge boots, black belt and necklace-which is also a fab buy from Miss Selfridge...The boyf was a bit unsure about the whole thing...he infact asked why i couldn't just dress 'normally' for once, which I'm not really sure about...

I also apologise for the blurred pics..we were in a rush to go out...

Erm guys...do I look like Dennis the Menace?

Firstly I apologise for the number of filler posts I'm about to publish...I have a stack of outfit pictures that I haven't got round to posting....

I picked this dress up from Topshop. I love red dresses. They always seem to catch my eye. This one is super flattering to with the added peplum detailing around the waist.

Anyway I wore this into work with blue tights and blazer and all was well until I realised that I was wearing similar colours to the cartoon character Dennis the Menace.

I made the mistake of asking my work mates if they agreed...
"Erm...guys? Do I look like like Dennis the Menace?"......."yes".......
